Fontane

(fountains)

By the 1870s, Sonoma County was a blossoming, prosperous area, with numerous types of agriculture well developed. From dairy and poultry, to grapes for wine, apples, prunes, and hops, the need for labor to tend these crops was dire. Italian families began to arrive, and, with the landscape and climate being so similar to their homes across the sea, they started to settle in. With them came their love and knowledge of wine. Soon thereafter, Italian wines were being produced for local consumption and to be shipped to other areas. With this abundance came the ability to freely pour fine Italian wines. As a salute to the Italian heritage and cultural contributions of the region, we chose to call our line of fountains, Fontane, with the constant flow of water being a metaphor for the ability to constantly pour their wine.

The Fontane is a wonderful addition to any living area. The gentle splash of falling water into the basin relaxes the strain of a long day or adds a beautiful note of nature to a gathering of friends and family. Some designs incorporate a planter bed to grow small fruits and vegetables, herbs, or other befitting flora.

The options for fountains are endless, much like the wine supply. Have a design in mind, or a particular space you’d like to fill? Our custom built fountains will fit the bill.
