Fuoco e Grigliate

Fue et Gril

(fire pit & grill)

As with so many other Europeans fleeing war, failed crops, and economic depression in the mid to late 1800s and early 1900s, so did French families. While the French history in Sonoma may not be as well known as the Spanish, they were nevertheless crucial in shaping our region and present culture. As with the Italians, French families chose to settle in the Sonoma and Napa Valleys for it’s resemblance to southern France and northern Italy. Several French resorts were established in the Sonoma Valley, and some of the most prominent and popular wine varietals, such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Chardonnay, originated in France and brought to what we now call Wine Country.

The French have been known for their culinary prowess for centuries. Cooking requires fire (typically - if it’s not hot, is it really cooked? Sorry sushi), and so we present, Fue et Gril, or fire and grill.

So often we start, and end, the evening with fire.  A source of heat for cooking our meal, and later providing warmth, light, and a place to gather as the night winds down.

From the first fire pit in our collection, to large, custom built smokers, and Santa Maria style grills, your cooking and entertaining fire needs are covered. Have your own design in mind or want to customize one of ours for your situation? Give us a call, our fabrication methods and equipment make nearly anything possible.
